Onyx Eclipse 40R Electric Fire

The Onyx Eclipse 40R Electric Fire brings contemporary fireplace styling, realistic flame effects and convenient electric heating to your living space. Designed around a standard 16-inch fireplace opening, it is an attractive choice for refreshing an existing fireplace or creating a smart inset feature.

The Eclipse 40R combines a clean integrated frame with IlluminOak glowing logs and customisable LED lighting. Its compact fireplace format makes it particularly suitable for homes where a traditional fireplace opening is being updated with modern electric-fire technology.

Designed for a Standard 16-Inch Fireplace Opening

The Onyx Eclipse 40R is proportioned to fit a standard 16-inch fireplace opening, making it a useful option for suitable existing fireplaces.

Its integrated frame creates a neat finished appearance, with a choice of three-sided or four-sided frame presentation. The final configuration must follow the manufacturer’s installation instructions and suit the fireplace design.

Before ordering, check the manufacturer’s current technical drawing for the exact appliance and recess dimensions. Confirm the opening, clearances, electrical requirements and access arrangements before preparing or altering the fireplace.

Authentic Flame Technology and IlluminOak Logs

The Eclipse 40R uses Authentic Flame Technology to create a detailed flame picture with 16 settings. Select a traditional amber-style flame or explore alternative effects to complement your interior.

The IlluminOak log-effect features hidden internal lighting designed to create the appearance of gently glowing wood. The fuel-bed and log lighting adds depth to the display and can be adjusted independently of the heater.

Features include:

• 16 flame settings.
• Eight illuminated log and fuel-bed lighting colours plus spectrum mode.
• Adjustable downlighting in amber or white.
• Adjustable brightness for the visual effects.
• Nine MyFlame presets, three of which can be customised and saved through the app.
• Optional LED mood lighting for surrounding shelving or media-wall features.

These options help you create anything from a traditional fireside glow to a more contemporary lighting effect. Enjoy the flames with or without heat throughout the year.

Programmable Electric Heating and Smart Controls

The Onyx Eclipse 40R provides up to 1.5 kW of programmable thermostatic heating. Set your preferred room temperature and adjust the heating and visual display to suit your needs.

The fire offers three control methods:

• Remote control: Adjust the flame effects, lighting and heat from your seat.
• Touch panel: Operate the main functions directly on the appliance.
• App control: Use a compatible iOS or Android device to adjust settings and create programmes.

The Eclipse range also includes daily and weekly scheduling, open-window detection and Adaptive Start Control. A fan-only mode provides gentle air circulation when you want the visual effects without additional heat.

Installation and Suitability

Although the Eclipse 40R is proportioned for a standard 16-inch fireplace opening, the suitability of an existing fireplace depends on its actual dimensions and construction.

The Onyx Eclipse 40R Electric Fire is a practical option for updating a traditional 16-inch fireplace opening, subject to confirming the manufacturer’s dimensions and clearance requirements.

Your installer should check the required recess, access for installation and maintenance, electrical supply, clearances and frame configuration. Installation must follow the manufacturer’s instructions and applicable requirements.
